Student Device Program

1. School Supplier Portal

The recommended choice for most families. Devices are purchased through our supplier, Edunet, and are education-specific models built for school use.

  • Warranty: Three years included as standard, with a four-year upgrade available.
  • Accidental damage cover: Drops, bumps, liquid spills, screen damage and electrical surge, with no excess to pay.
  • Onsite repairs: Claims are lodged by our ICT team and a technician attends the College. A loan device is provided while yours is being repaired.
  • Delivered to the school: Devices come directly to the College so ICT can build and label them before handover.
  • Software included: Microsoft 365, Windows 11 Education, Adobe Creative Cloud and Compass, provided free through the school and the Department of Education.

2. College Laptop Hire

A school-managed program to ensure every student has access to a device, for families who are not in a position to purchase one.

  • Cost: An annual hire fee applies. Please contact the College for current costs and availability.
  • Ownership: The device remains College property at all times and is returned to the College at the end of the hire.
  • Included: The device is set up with the school build and software, and repairs are handled by our ICT team in the same way as a purchased device.
  • Terms: Families must sign the College Laptop Hire Agreement.

Setting up your device

Before handover, our ICT team rebuilds each device with the College’s Standard Operating Environment, a school-configured version of Windows. The device arrives connected to our network and printers, with school software installed and content filtering in place.

Please note the rebuild erases anything already on the device, so back up your files first if you are supplying your own. Devices bought through the portal arrive new.

MINIMUM TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (BYOD)

These specifications apply to families supplying their own device. Devices purchased through the school portal already meet them.

  • Processor: Intel Core i3, Intel N-series, or AMD Ryzen 3 or better
  • Memory: 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB recommended
  • Storage: 128GB SSD minimum, 256GB recommended
  • Screen: 10 inches or larger, touchscreen with stylus required
  • Keyboard: Physical keyboard required
  • Operating system: The device must be capable of running Windows 11. You do not need to purchase Windows, as the College supplies and installs Windows 11 Education as part of the setup.
Please note: all devices are rebuilt with the College’s Standard Operating Environment before use at school. This erases everything already on the device, so back up your files first.
Not supported: Apple MacBooks and iPads, Android tablets, Chromebooks and Chrome OS, Windows RT, and Windows 10 or earlier. Devices without a touchscreen and stylus do not meet our requirements.

Mobile phones are not permitted to be used as a learning device.
